If you haven’t been to New York City before, you missed it. It’s not destroyed, it’s just a mess and not worth visiting. You still could – it’s great place to take the family if you love the smell of fresh urine on hot concrete coupled with potent marijuana, because you smell that combination pretty much everywhere.
The city is dying, and we should let it. Progressives are all in favor of assisted suicide, we should join them in the case of New York and help the city kill itself. Only a complete embrace of socialist/fascist/communist policies (and there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between the three) will ween those people off their addiction to seeking government to solve their problems/improve their lives. Let it die, and let them choke on whatever damage and harm to people it does along the way.
Some people can learn from history, other are too dumb to heed those lessons and avoid the pitfalls of the past. New York falls into the latter, so let them swallow the whole bottle of their own medicine. I can’t bring myself to care.
Republicans in Washington should do everything to make sure that all the socialist policies New York currently has, and the ones in waiting to be imposed, have the maximum impact on the people who voted for their worthless politicians.
That means maintaining the end of the tax deduction for state and local taxes (SALT) so high tax areas that elect Democrats who jack up their rates get zero relief from the federal government for their stupidity. Why should everyone else subsidize their folly? And why would they want it? They voted for people who jacked up their taxes, that must be what they wanted or else they wouldn’t have done it. Make them take that big dose of their own medicine.
Republicans should also attach all the strings they can to federal money related to immigration. Attempts have been shot down by the courts before, but every effort needs to be made to end federal money for welfare and food stamps to illegal aliens, then reduced the money to any state/city that refuses to confirm the citizenship status of enrollees.
Nothing for Medicaid for illegals, let the sanctuary cities and states pick up 100 percent of the tab for that. All they do is talk about how big of a boon to the economy illegal aliens are, let them spend some of that “windfall” on taking care of them all by themselves.
Choke these areas, starting with New York City, of all the federal funds possible related to their stance on immigration and other policy positions in conflict with federal law. You can’t punish the moron voters of New York for nominating an anti-American, anti-Semite piece of garbage to be the Democratic nominee for mayor – at least not directly, they’re free to morons – but you can cut off as many of the federal relief programs and escape hatches that would decrease the impact of such a stupid, bigoted decision.
Look, Democrats are crap, they really are. But they are hardly as bad as they could be. As impossible as it seems, they can get much worse. Zohran Mamdani is Mao with a bigger smile. The murderous Mao was regularly seem with an ear-to-ear grin because the image overrides so much of what is being done in the minds of “followers.” Zohran has studied dictators, their rhetorical tricks and image manipulation, and he uses those tools to near perfection.
The one thing you have to remember about these people is they are evil, not stupid. It’s not like they believe they can make socialism/communism/fascism work, it’s that they don’t care because they want the policies implemented not matter how much harm they do. Equality to everyone suffers equally…except them. If you notice, totalitarians tend to be fat as their people starve – Mao, Stalin, Castro, Kim, Hitler all got fat while in power and their people went hungry. The policies progressives seek to impose are policies they, themselves, are largely exempt from.
Rich liberals don’t pay higher tax rates, they have “wealth” more than income. They don’t pay death taxes, their wealth is in tax-exempt trusts as farmers have to sell everything because their “net worth” on paper is millions thanks to land and equipment, but only have a net income of $50,000. They don’t have to wait for to see a doctor or for an insurance company (or the government) to approve a medical procedure, they just open up their wallet.
So much of what leftist politicians seek to impose on everyone else are things that will never impact them directly. The best thing Republicans can do is to do everything on the federal level to make sure they aren’t exempt and the people who voted for them aren’t insulated from the effects of what they voted for. They want socialism, make them eat it in its purest form.
A big dose of their own medicine is exactly what the doctor ordered. If they want to force their prescriptions on everyone else, make them take it first. If Democrats in New York City are hell bent on destroying themselves, help them. It couldn’t happen to a nicer group of people.
NYC still has the paradise of Staten Island.
Staten Island isn’t NYC anymore than Queens, The Bronx, or Brooklyn is. NYC is Manhattan.
If Staten Island knows what’s good for it, it should secede from Manhattan and so should all the other boroughs.
Queens, The Bronx, and Brooklyn are Democrat. and a lost cause. SI is still mostly sane.
SI already voted overwhelmingly to secede but was thwarted by the Democrat state legislature. From Wikipedia:
Staten Island secession from New York City
The “Greater City” exists as a result of actions of the New York State Legislature, and, as such, could be reduced in size by the same mechanism. A non-binding referendum in the borough of Staten Island was held in 1993 to consider whether it should be allowed to secede from the City. The New York City government and Mayor David Dinkins opposed the vote, contending that the referendum should not be permitted by the state unless the city issued a home rule message supporting it, which the city would not. Governor Mario Cuomo disagreed, and the vote went forward. Many Staten Island politicians, including Senator John J. Marchi and Assemblyman Eric N. Vitaliano supported the movement.[24][25] Vote Yes, Inc. was formed as a nonpartisan, grass-roots organization in January 1990. Its initial purpose was to secure a “yes” vote for the November 1990 referendum on Staten Island secession.[26] Ultimately, 65% of Staten Island residents voted to secede, through the approval of a new city charter making Staten Island an independent city, but implementation was blocked in the State Assembly.
Unfortunately, Brooklyn (where I live) is just bad as Manhattan!
NYC has to hit rock bottom, Mad Max style, with zero bail out by the Feds, so that even the most “progressive” lunatics will clamor for change.
The Big Apples core has gotten sorry worm ridden the other worms are moving out its going to be a long lonely summer for the Big Apple and Miss Liberty wants to move to Florida and take the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building and King Kongs going with er and Stomp the City Hall and NYT’s places flat
It’s a very bad idea to surrender territory to your enemy, particularly when it is in your own country. “Let New York go communist” simply strengthens the communists and furthers their Cloward-Piven strategy.
Would that we could relocate the Metropolitan Museum of Art to a red state. The way things are now, I might never visit again.
Sadly, the Constitution does not protect us from the stupidity of others.
It is truly sad what has happened to NYC. I grew up in Connecticut over 70 years ago before I headed west for college. We visted NYC almost monthly since it was only an hours drive from our place in Conn. As young adults we loved visiting “THE CITY”. It was so filled with life and culture and amazing places to visit and things to do. It brings me to tears to see the damage the liberals have done to this amazing icon of America.
It is hard to believe that the residents of this once great city hated her so much that they systematically caused her dimise. This is a great article and should be read by everyone.
Yes, I agree. As a kid that grew up in Queens in the 50s and 60s the disintegration of the greatest city in the world, the pinnacle of human endeavor ; Manhattan, is heart braking.
It needs to be isolated, quarantined, and walled off from the rest of the country. Don’t allow the fools that live there and vote the way that they do to escape to Florida or any where else. Anyone that wishes to leave should be carefully vetted.
They should perish there like the generation that left Egypt were not allowed to enter The Holy Land.
This article has too many typo and grammar issues that really detract from the content!
Some of us didn’t vote for Mamdani. In fact we voted consistently for Republicans. We don’t deserve what is happening.
Once people get into power, their political beliefs take hold – then
reverberate. Like falling dominoes, those beliefs become entrenched
in government departments – in outside agencies – in administrative
academia – in patriotic events – in citizens’ minds. They become a
force for spreading change.
If accompanied more and more by coercion – by such things as
increased restriction on free speech, on gun ownership, on parental
rights – those political beliefs morph into tyranny.
If accompanied by emergence of a powerful uniparty aka one party
system – those political beliefs morph into tyranny. And with increased
impoverishment, exorbitant crime and strong cultural breakdown,
tyranny will prevail as well.
All things that Mamdani – true Islamist-loving, globalist communist that
he is – will always support not only for New York’s destruction but for
America’s as well. Most likely Qatar, Saudi and other Muslim oil money
plus global Communist money has positioned the smiling Mamdani
swine – right under our noses – to conquer and defeat the force of
MAGA and President Trump.
This says much about the citizens/voters of NY.
Lemming behavior comes to mind.
NYC has millions of people. While many have gone berserk, millions still favor law and order, and many of these have no means to move out. However, capable politicians with the right attitude are in extremely short supply.
Love your articles. Always spot on. But, with spell check and grammar check, (sorry, I’m old-fashioned), would it hurt to take an extra few seconds? Love your passion, by the way.
